In 1910, Dr. Eliot, a Harvard professor, published an anthology which was intended to gather together all of the modern and classical literary knowledge. The anthology contained fifty volumes and held on a five foot long shelf, thus its name The Five Foot Shelf of Books. A copy of this anthology could be found in Allen Ruppersberg atelier that he had to leave definitely. The anthology was identically reproduced and Allen Ruppersberg rewrote its content. The 50 volumes from the anthology are presented with 44 posters, which reproduced the artist's atelier on a scale of one to one. This installation is called The New Five Foot Shelf.
